WHY COUNSELING WITH A PHYSICAL THERAPIST?
Specialized physical therapy is one of the strategies with the best scientific evidence in the treatment of Bruxism and Temporomandibular Disorders.
Given the musculoskeletal nature, treatment targeting the temporomandibular joints and masticatory muscles represents a therapy that can reduce pain, improve mobility and mandibular opening, and reduce muscle tension.
Self-management strategies, control of daytime muscle hyper-activity, and specific joint and muscle mobility exercises can be offered and taught through tele-rehabilitation sessions led by the Physiotherapist experienced in Bruxism.
The goal is to make patients autonomous and aware of the nature of their problem by offering tools to control and improve their symptoms, on a daily basis.
